Dragon Quest 11, the critically acclaimed JRPG from Square Enix, will release on Nintendo Switch this Fall, it was announced during tonight’s Nintendo Direct presentation.
Titled Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age — Definitive Edition (bit of a mouthful, isn’t it?), the Switch version of Dragon Quest 11 will feature all of the same content as the original which released on the PS4 and PC in 2018, as well as some additional extras.
Switch players will be able to choose between the games original midi soundtrack or the new, fully orchestrated soundtrack, and there will also be an optional 16-bit graphics mode that’s reminiscent of the 3DS version of the game that only released in Japan. Players will also have the option of choosing between English or Japanese voices, and there will be some new character specific stories too.
Dragon Quest 11 originally released in Japan on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS back in 2017 before releasing worldwide on the PS4 and PC in September 2018. When that worldwide release was announced, Square Enix did confirm that they were working on a Nintendo Switch version, but no dates were ever given. I’m sure Switch owners will be delighted to finally know that Dragon Quest 11 is well on its way.
