Astral Chain, the new Nintendo Switch exclusive from Platinum Games, has been announced for Nintendo Switch.
The game, which will release on Friday 30th August, was announced during tonight’s Nintendo Direct presentation. The footage shown revealed two characters fighting side by side, and in some cases chained together, to take down huge monsters and various other enemies in a futuristic city setting. The official description for the game reads:
“As part of a police special forces unit in a multi-cultural futuristic city, players work together with a humanoid special weapon, Legion, in a synergetic action system of battle and exploration.”
The game has a pretty distinctive, cel shaded art style and the combat looks fast, frantic, and fluid as hell, which you would expect – Platinum Games are the guys responsible for the fantastic Bayonetta series (as a side note, it was also confirmed that Bayonetta 3 is still in development). No further details were given on the game, but we’ll keep you updated as and when they become available.
Astral Chain will release exclusively on Nintendo Switch on Friday 30th August 2019.
