Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without a decent multiplayer game under the tree, one you can play with your Nan (I put my Nan behind a racing wheel on Sega Rally one year, it was hilarious). Thankfully, I’ve found a decent multiplayer game for you at a decent price. In fact, it’s at its lowest price on both PS4 and Xbox One.
Right now at Argos you can pick up Overcooked 2 on PS4 and Xbox One for £11.99, that’s a 25% saving on the normal price of £16.99. It’s a decent price and a pretty good stocking filler, especially if you want the family involved in a gaming session over the festive period.
Overcooked 2 is a cooperative cooking game where teams of up to four players cooperatively prepare and cook orders in absurd restaurants. Players prepare the food with actions like chopping and cooking different ingredients, then combine them on plates, you then serve the completed dishes on a conveyor belt. It sounds simple, but things get crazy real quick, especially in the later levels.
Overcooked 2 is, in some ways, the perfect Christmas game. If your Christmas dinner is anything like mine, you’ll get what I mean – different family members preparing different dishes, with everyone trying to make sure everyone else’s offerings are prepared the right way. It’s manic and at times very stressful, it really does remind me of a session on Overcooked.
If you want a multiplayer game that everyone can enjoy over Christmas, then look no further than Overcooked 2. No other game will get you moaning at your dad to move out the way whilst you’re trying to cook, unless, of course, you live in a house like mine.
