If you’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of Anthem and its official release date of February 22nd 2019 is just too far away then I have some good news for you – EA has announced details of the games closed Alpha.
Anthem’s closed alpha will run from December 8th-9th on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There will be multiple sessions across the two days, and you’ll be able to play in one or all of them. Players can only sign up to play the game on one device.
If you want to take part in the closed alpha you’ll need to sign up to the EA Community Playtest Programme by the end of the day on December 3rd. EA has been important to note that signing up does not guarantee that you’ll be invited to take part, it’s on a first come first serve basis. According to EA, the closed alpha will give players “an opportunity for you to check out Anthem but we’ll also be adjusting things like matchmaking and server load on the fly.”

In other BioWare-related news, a recent blog post from BioWare General Manager, Casey Hudson, updated fans on what the studio is currently up to. The blog post was largely about Anthem, but there was also an interesting little mention given to the Dragon Age series. Right near the end of his post, Casey said:
“If you’ve been following these blogs, or myself and Mark Darrah on Twitter, you know we’re also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff. Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we’re excited to continue its legacy. Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won’t tell you where to look…)”
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on that Dragon Age news as soon as more information is available.
