Planet Zoo will launch for PC on Tuesday 5th November, developer Frontier Developments has confirmed.
The game will allow you to build and run your own zoo in either a “globe-trotting campaign mode” or a Sandbox mode, which I personally always prefer. The game, which is Frontier Developments follow up to the fantastic Planet Coaster, is a spiritual successor to Zoo Tycoon and it looks bloody gorgeous. Check out the lovely trailer below:
As you’d expect, the game sounds pretty in-depth. Frontier Developments are promising that players will “create unique habitats and vast landscapes, make big decisions and meaningful choices, and nurture your animals as you construct and manage the world’s wildest zoos.”. In terms of the wildlife, players will meet “a world of incredible animals”, with every animal being a “thinking, feeling individual with a distinctive look and personality of their own”.
The game is available to pre-order right now over on Steam and it comes in two versions. The standard edition will set you back £34.99/$44.99, but there’s also a Deluxe Edition that will cost £42.99/$54.99. The Deluxe Edition gives you the core Planet Zoo game as well as pre-launch beta access, “high-quality” wallpapers, a digital copy of the games soundtrack, and three exclusive animals, namely a Komodo Dragon, Pygmy Hippopotamus, and Thomson’s Gazelle.
