Nintendo has revealed their plans for E3 2019, including a Nintendo Direct presentation.
The Nintendo Direct presentation will take place on the first day of E3, Tuesday 11th June, at 5pm UK time, giving players a look at “Nintendo Switch titles for 2019”. Notable titles that we’re likely to get a closer look at include Luigi’s Mansion 3, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Animal Crossing for Switch, Astral Chain, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake.
Personally, I’m particularly hopeful to see more of Astral Chain, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, and Link’s Awakening. Astral Chain looked very interesting when it was announced during February’s Nintendo Direct presentation, and the remake of Link’s Awakening—which was announced during the same episode—looks absolutely gorgeous. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, meanwhile, will only be just over a month away from release when E3 takes place, and I’m still very much going through a superhero obsession after the recent release of Avengers: Endgame. Aside from the Nintendo Direct presentation there will also be Nintendo Treehouse: Live, a “daily livestream from E3 featuring live gameplay and in-depth analysis of games featured at E3”.
Nintendo are also holding a couple of tournaments the weekend before E3; the Splatoon 2 World Championship 2019 will take place at 7pm UK time on Saturday 8th June, with Alliance Rogue from France, FTWIN from North America, GGBOYZ from Japan, and Lime Soda from Australia/New Zealand battling it out for the crown of world champions. Then, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship 2019 3v3 tournament will take place at 10pm on the same night, with teams from Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and North America competing for the prize. Both of those tournaments will be available to watch via livestream on the Nintendo website.
