Yakuza is finally coming to an Xbox console

After years of exclusivity to Sony’s console, the Yakuza series will finally have some representation on an Xbox console from early next year, it has been announced.

Specifically, Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will all become available to play on the Xbox One through the Xbox Game Pass. Yakuza 0 is a prequel to the original Yakuza, while Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are remakes of the first two games in the series. That means that these three new additions will give Xbox players the chance to play the first three chronological entries in the series.

Yakuza appearing on an Xbox console is a pretty big deal considering that Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s beat ’em up has pretty much been a PlayStation exclusive since the first entry released for the PS2 back in 2006. The somewhat bonkers open-world series finally appeared on PC last year, and now it seems like it has managed to make its way to Microsoft’s console. If all of that isn’t enough to get you excited then here’s a quick trailer along with some kickass guitar:

Excited yet? You should be. Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will join the Xbox Game Pass in “early 2020”.
