Overwatch Winter Wonderland is now live!
Christmas is nearly here, and with it comes all kind of yearly traditions and happenings that I’ve come to accept. I’m going to eat an inhumane amount of pigs in blankets, the bloke across the road is going to blind me with a ridiculous amount of decorations on the outside of his house, and a lot of games are going to make themselves all festive with a seasonal event.
Overwatch never lets us down in that last regard and 2018 will be no exception, as a teaser video from the Overwatch twitter feed has confirmed that the games traditional Winter Wonderland event will be live on all platforms from December 11th until January 2nd.

As expected—and in the true tradition of an Overwatch seasonal event—things are pretty much the same as last year. There are no new game modes, but the event sees the return of Mei’s Yeti Hunt and Mei’s Snowball Offensive, as well as a number of new and returning skins, emotes and voice lines. As always, numerous maps have been given the festive makeover treatment, with King’s Row, Hanamura, and Blizzardworld now covered in snow and decked out in Crimbo decorations.
I do like Overwatch’s seasonal events—they somehow help to give the game a little bit of added variety—but I hope to see them do something different each year rather than pull out all of the same features.
