The Dreams beta is starting soon and here’s how to get access

Dreams has been in development for some time now and there’s people wondering if the game will ever come out. Well, Media Molecule has responded by announcing the Dreams beta which will begin during the week of January 8th, and registration is already live.

In order to register for the beta now you must already be subscribed to the developers mailing list, if you’re not already on the list then you’ll need to wait until January 4th for the opportunity to register. Registering doesn’t guarantee access to the beta but Media Molecule has said that they will try their best to give everyone who registers access.

The developer has said that the purpose of the beta is to gather valuable player feedback on the tutorials, creative tools and other things included in the game. However, the story mode will not be included in the beta; in other words, you’ll only be able to get your hands on the extras that the game has to offer. Personally I don’t resent this decision, as I find it annoying when storylines get ruined in betas, but I’m sure there’s plenty of people that will be disappointed to hear that they won’t have access to the full experience.

Another point of note is that Media Molecule will require players to sign an NDA before playing the beta. This means that you won’t be able to share screenshots or videos of the game, so to get your first real look at the game you’ll need to play the beta yourself as there will not be any gameplay videos shared to YouTube.

There isn’t a solid release date for Dreams yet, but we do know that it’s coming in 2019.
