PUBG on PC gets a new Test Server update

The PC version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has some new additions to try out, thanks to a new update that is now live on the Test Server.

The update has added a new SMG called the Bizon. The Bizon will be exclusive to Vikendi and Erangel, and it will use 9mm ammunition and hold 53 rounds by default. The Bizon can only take muzzle and sight attachments; grips or magazines will not be compatible with the Bizon.

The update has also added a new attachment called the Canted Sight. The Canted Sight is a scope for weapons that have a secondary scope slot, meaning you’ll be able to have two sights equipped at once that you can switch between, so you should be more adaptable to combat at different ranges. The Canted Sight can be used with the following weapons:

  • Assault Rifle – Beryl M762, AKM, AUG, M416, Mutant, QBZ, SCAR-L, G36C
  • DMR – SLR, Mini14, Mk14, QBU, SKS
  • Sniper Rifle – AWM, M24, Kar98k
  • SMG – UMP, Vector, Bizon
  • Shotgun – S12K
  • LMG – M249

There’s also a new vehicle available on the Vikendi map – the Snowbike. The Snowbike is a quicker and more mobile alternative to the Snowmobile, but it is much less durable and can be easily destroyed, so use it with a bit of caution. Because the Snowbike is now available, the not-very-well-suited-to-the-terrain motorcycle will no longer spawn on Vikendi.

There’s also a new weather setting on Vikendi. Moonlight will allow you to experience Vikendi at night, but don’t worry, the bright light of the moon and the bright aurora borealis will illuminate the map enough that it’s not too difficult to spot enemies.

The update also brings with it a new weapon skin called BattleStat. When you are using the BattleStat weapon skin, the number of players that you kill with that weapon is recorded and displayed on the skin, and you can simply press J at any point when in-game to instantly see just how lethal you are with that weapon. The BattleStat skin can currently be purchased for 10 Battle Points on the Test Server, but it is noted that it will be available through a BP crate that can be opened with a purchased key once this update hits the live server.

Aside from all of these new additions, there are numerous gameplay changes and tweaks, including a decreased amount of damage delivered to vests, a reduced spawn rate for Level 3 helmets and vests on Vikendi as well as other item spawn modifications on the snow-themed map. As always, you can read the full list of changes here.

This update is live right now on the Test Server, and as long as all runs smoothly you can expect it to make its way to the Live Server soon.
