My Friend Pedro, PES 2020, and more heading to Xbox Game Pass this month

December’s lineup of games heading to Microsoft’s Game Pass service has been announced, with no fewer than eight titles being added to Microsoft’s ever-increasing library of games.

Thursday 5th December will see DeadToast Entertainment’s shoot ’em up My Friend Pedro heading to the service, as well as Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker. Then, on Friday 6th December, unique pinball simulator Demon’s Tilt and song-making game Wandersong are released.

Finally, Thursday 12th December sees four more titles added, with Konami’s latest title in its long running soccer franchise being the highlight. PES 2020 only launched a few months back and plays a fantastic game of football. If you can overlook the lack of authenticity found in the FIFA series then the on-the-field action is just as enjoyable, if not better than EA’s monster. If you prefer your action to take place in the kitchen rather than on the pitch, then getting you into the festive party spirit is awesome party cooking game Overcooked 2. In my house we don’t need the Xbox on to get into an argument over the cooking of Christmas dinner, so playing a heated game of Overcooked is fairly normal. For those unfamiliar, be prepared to fume at any family member not pulling their weight in the kitchen this Christmas!

Far removed from family party games is horror role-playing adventure game Pathologic 2, which follows the events of an epidemic in the rural settlement of Town-on-Gorkhon. Last but not least, an old favourite returns to Game Pass; the original The Division was removed in the early part of the year when the sequel was released, but it will be back on Thursday 12th December! Many fans of the series rate the original Division higher than the sequel, meaning the game isn’t as empty as you might think. PVP modes, Survival, and the far better version of the Dark Zone still prove to be popular to this day.

If you missed it, remember that Microsoft also added Halo: Reach to Game Pass for both PC and console on December 3rd, meaning December really is a monster month for the service.

Microsoft is also doing an Elf Quest this month with the service, which gifts a free rental of the movie Elf to gamers who complete one or more of the following Game Pass quests:

  • Unlocking an achievement in Xbox’s Biggest Games of the Year collection
  • Getting 2 achievements in Rage 2 or Subnautica
  • Getting 3 achievements in any ID@Xbox game
  • Get 1 achievement in any of the newly added Xbox Game Pass Games.
