Fortnite’s v7.30 update adds Bottle Rockets

Fortnite’s V7.30 update is now live on all platforms, and the most notable addition is a new explosive weapon known as Bottle Rockets.

Bottle Rockets are Uncommon loot that can be found from Floor Loot, Chests, Vending Machines, Supply Llamas and Supply Drops. They are a thrown item that “launches a barrage of bottle rockets toward the targeted direction”. Bottle Rockets will drop in stacks of 2 with a max stack size of 6. Check them out in use below, with some groovy saxophone accompanying the demonstration:

The update also adds Environmental Campfires, which are basically fixed versions of the Cozy Campfire. The Cozy Campfire can be carried around and used when you so wish, but Environmental Campfires will be located in fixed positions around the map. Players can use these campfires to heal 2 health per second to all nearby players for 25 seconds (which is the same as the Cozy Campfire), but they can only be used once per match.

This update also brings a new limited time mode known as Wild West Duos, where players will only be able to use a limited set of weapons and items that could be considered Wild West-themed, such as Hunting Rifles, Shotguns, and Dynamite. The Revolver and the Double Barrel Shotgun have been unvaulted for this mode, and the chance for Slurp Juice to appear in Supply Drops has been increased. Epic also noted that they are currently testing a new schedule for Limited Time Modes, with playlists rotating every couple of days to allow “a more diverse amount of modes to be available over the course of a week”.

As always, the update sends something to the vault, with the BoomBox being the victim this time around.

There are a few other small tweaks in the update, such as a reduced chance of receiving rocket ammo out of ammo boxes from 12% to 6%, and an increase to the impulse strength of the Launchpad by 28.5%. As always, you can read the full patch notes here.
