Diablo 3’s Season 16 has been revealed

We’ve been waiting for new content to come to Diablo 3 for some time now, but that wait has now come to an end. Blizzard has revealed Diablo 3’s season 16, which includes a whole host of new content including buffs, cosmetics, and more. One buff item that players will get to benefit from for the duration of Season 16 is the The Ring of Royal Grandeur which, as well as providing players with buffs, will also lower the amount of set items needed to benefit from the set bonus to 1, which means you only need to equip two set items to nab the set bonus buffs. This should give you more freedom when choosing which equipment to use, or as Blizzard says:

“this means many classes may be able to combine different Class Set bonuses in new ways – or squeeze yet another Legendary power into their favorite builds.”

As well as the ring, players will also receive an array of new cosmetic items. Of course, you will need to progress through Diablo 3’s latest season journey in order to be able to get your hands on them. These items include things such as the ‘Conqueror Set’, which consists of shoulder pieces and a helm, as well as a new series of portrait frames which Blizzard has said are all themed around the “clarion call of adventure”. There’s also a new set of wings named ‘The Wings of Lempo’, these have a chance to drop from mobs, though the drop rate is low.

As always with new seasons of Diablo, there’s a new rotation of Seasonal Conquests and Classic Sets which you can get via Haedrig’s Gift. These sets will contain class specific sets. The sets in this rotation include:

  • Immortal King’s Call (Barbarian)
  • Seeker of the Light (Crusader)
  • Natalya’s Vengeance (Demon Hunter)
  • Uliana’s Stratagem (Monk)
  • Trag’Oul’s Avatar (Necromancer)
  • Spirit of Arachyr (Witch Doctor)
  • Vyr’s Amazing Arcana (Wizard)

To acquire these ‘gifts’ you’ll have to complete chapters 2, 3, and 4 in the Season Journey and, of course, they must be opened while using the same character in order to receive a full set.

That’s about it in terms of new gear and items, but there’s also been a whole host of balance and quality of life changes. Take a look at the full patch notes on the Diablo 3 website to read more on these. The patch should be live now across all platforms, however, Season 16 will not begin on consoles until tomorrow at 1am (already begun on PC).
