Epic has released details of the third content update for Fortnite v7.10, which is available now.
The headline act of the update is the addition of the Suppressed Sniper Rifle. The rifle will deal less damage but will allow players to use a more stealthy approach to sneak up on their enemies. The rifle will be available in Epic and Legendary variants and can be found in chests, vending machines, supply drops or as floor loot.
Sticking with weapons, the Six Shooter has been vaulted, and the Uncommon, Common, and Rare variants of the Burst Assault Rifle have had the same treatment. Meanwhile, the Dual Pistols have been unvaulted and the drop rate of Dynamite has been reduced by 40%.
Elsehwere, the X-4 Stormwing has had a significant nerf following player frustrations about it’s power. The knockback that players receive after being hit by a Stormwing has been decreased by 70%, while the damage done to the Stormwing when it collides with a structure has been increased by 50%. The spread of the Stormwing’s machine gun has also been increased by a whopping 75%, and the Stormwing spawn rate has been decreased from 100% to 80%. Hopefully the Stormwing will be in a more balanced place moving forward.
Also in the update, The Block—the area dedicated to showcasing player creations—has been updated to showcase the DM Arena, an acrobatic-focused area created by KojackNumber2 that features a lot of bounce pads.
As always, you can read the full patch notes here, and there are a few chances to Fortnite: Save The World to read about too.
