Ghostbusters: The Video Game is being remastered

Ghostbusters: The Video Game is getting a modern day remaster, it has been announced.

The aptly named Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered will bring the 2009 original up to modern day standards. The original was developed by the now defunct Terminal Reality, so the remastered version is being handled by Saber Interactive, the guys behind the likes of World War Z and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, so they do have some experience when it comes to remasters. The game features some fabulous voice acting from the original actors who portrayed the Ghostbusters, namely Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson, and Aykroyd and the late Harold Ramis—who wrote the films—also worked on the script for the game. Players take control of the newest rookie on the team as ghosts run riot in New York (just for a change), making use of the famous Ghostbusters gadgets such as PKE meters and Proton Packs. The game received decent reviews when it released back in 2009, with many people considering it one of the best movie-to-video game adaptations. Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered will launch “later this year” on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store, which I’m presuming it’ll be exclusive to. If you’re a fan of the films then I’m sure you’ll enjoy the authenticity of the game, which includes the timelessly-badass theme tune. Has there ever been a better one?
